LA DIVINA PAPAYA

La Divina Papaya is a small company focused on sustainability that sells 100% natural dehydrated products, custom blend teas, and signature spices. The founders, sisters Daniela and Andrea, work the land in the skirts of the Cayambe volcano, promoting eco-friendly agriculture in the Ecuadorian Andes.

Packaging Design / Storytelling

Food is about connecting to Earth

Our clients (the aforementioned sisters) wanted something vibrant, modern, and cool, shying away from the classic granny-like-aesthetic of tea and spices. But who says grandmas don’t want fun too? We wanted to create something that appeals to all kinds of people, because all kinds of people like to drink tea and cook tasty meals. Everything las Divinas do is for people who care about food and what they put in their bodies, but it’s also for people who want to try something new and fun. And at any given time, everybody wants that, right?

So, we used the opportunity to do something cool and eye-catching. Something that works for amateur cooks looking for inspiration, cool moms who want to try new stuff, seasoned chefs who are looking for sustainable ingredients for their recipes and any other cooky or adventurous person out there. Lucky for us, the ingredients found in Ecuador are a display of richness; the textures, colors, scents and flavors are so varied, vibrant and alive, we knew the packaging had to be a testament of that.

A mix of heritage and modernity,
La Divina Papaya brings the best of both worlds with a bang.

For the brand’s identity, we developed a module-based packaging system that allows them to categorize the products inside an ample hierarchy. The icons that make up these modules are abstractions of the ingredients used in their products, with a graphic style inspired by the tapestries weaved by loom in the Middle of the world.
